Our carefully curated and designed studio space has a rich story and character of its own. Set on the top floor of a 16th-century building steeped in history, nestled in the beating heart of Lisbon, we lovingly restored this faded, derelict space into a vibrant community hub, combining the building’s antiquated, grand interior features and architectural assets with a flare of radical artistic life, pops of colour and innovative, upcycled interiors. What was born was Echo Studies: a space where the dynamics of space, design, and regeneration are key to the atmosphere we endeavour to spark every day amongst our in-house, international creatives.

As a visionary concept space, Echo Studios combines the rustic, historic and grand with the urban, innovative and modern. Restoring life to pre-loved Portuguese objects and teasing out unsung stories from their remains is inherent to how we work. We polish creativity, restore colour and life, and take inspiration from our surroundings, working with local products and people to nurture their best qualities and intrinsic artistry.

Eleanor, Studio Founder and Set Designer, has worked lovingly and tirelessly to breathe new life into the objects found in this antiquated space. Inside the studio, you’ll find a '70s living room set, retro gym pieces, and a fuze table turned exterior wall art piece. Eleanor lends her visionary eye and skilful hands to the creation of many modern pieces for the space: think neon ladders, hand-crafted foam chairs, lockers and spray paint features. The space is alive with greenery, housed in concrete planters and modern-industrial ventilation pieces. Ample amounts of magazines, books and art pieces are scattered tastefully throughout the space. Each interior piece feels original and vibrant, a testament to the creative conceptualisation and exhibition that happens daily at Echo Studios.

While we are a dynamic and diverse hub for all kinds of creativity, minimalism is a key feature of our space, allowing our in-house artists to work with a somewhat blank canvas, giving them the freedom to put their mark on the space which they come to call a second home. Sheer curtains, sewn by our own Beatriz Olivier of BEA\ST, divide the space, while still allowing light and air to freely circulate between co-create spaces, lending a feeling of fluidity and airiness to the room. The space is breezy, bright and expansive. In short, Echo is a studio that feels homely yet productive, artistic yet minimalistic, open yet self-contained.

And when darkness falls, a different side of Echo Studios comes out to play. Our numerous artificial light features give rise to ‘Echo by Night’, a mood for a different kind of creative stimulation and the optimal setting for night-time events and connection. With displays of electric colour combinations and irredescent light installations, our studio has an unparalleled energy.
