Echo Studios is a shared space, infused from wall to wall with a sense of community and cohesiveness.
There is a cultural perception of the artist as a solitary figure - a notion at odds with the creative environment cultivated at Echo. We intentionally imbue our space with a sense of connection and collaboration, with the belief that we work best as a collective force. By learning from one another’s practices, platforming each other, networking and connecting, and above all inspiring one another, we create our best work and cultivate our best and most fulfilled selves.
As an international collective of artists, connecting and creating together has allowed us to share and translate our different backgrounds, cultures, identities and stories with one another. Developing Echo Studios has allowed us to connect, form relationships, and build something meaningful. Our shared creative practices have sparked conversations, ideas and momentum amongst our community.
At Echo, we want to break down, reconfigure and challenge expectations and perceptions of art and creativity, all the while opening the gates to the wider community. Who is an artist? What is creativity? Who do we open up creative spaces to?
We strive to nurture the creativity in everyone, empowering and uplifting individuals, and developing their self-expression and confidence in radical and inclusive ways.
